Strange purple trees. A towering blue crystal spire. And a thriving community of people who have built additions to this tower, lived and loved and died to protect the beacon of hope for their world.

The ancients' wish has come true.

Welcome to the Crystarium.

THE HANGED MAN

[ As far as medieval taverns go, this one is pretty special. People of all walks of life congregate in the smelly armpit of the city. The stew is made from a different mystery meat each morning, and the ale tastes just a fraction better than nug piss. But it's home to some of the most colorful characters in the world.

If you're looking for work, information, or a good brawl, this is the place.

Or maybe you're from a faraway land and this is the first inn you've seen in a hundred miles. If you're a visitor from such a place, a certain dwarf might be interested in meeting you. ]

shamelessly lifted from bakerstreet.

-- You're stuck. There's nowhere to go, and you're waiting for some sort of help to arrive or an event that will get you out of whatever you are trapped in. In the meantime, you better make the best of the situation.

PROMPTS:

  1. Deserted island - maybe you've been marooned, maybe you washed up there after an accident.
  2. Airport - your flight has been cancelled, it's late, and there's nowhere else to go. All the hotels are booked full, so you have to wait this out.
  3. Roadside - your car has broken down, there's no gas left, and the map said that the exit would have led to a way-station half a mile ago...
  4. Accident - you're in a sinking ship, or a crash site.
  5. In space - you would have thought technology in the far future would be more reliable.
  6. Wild weather - you're stuck in your house, or perhaps even under it thanks to rain, snow, or other weather warnings.
  7. Disaster - you've been blocked in by a landslide, or the road's been washed out during the flood.
  8. Other - WILDCARD, roll again or choose whatever.

FIGHT CLUB!!!

This is a post about beating the shit out of people. The prize is a generous amount of money, recognition, and something that would solve whatever problem your character's world is currently having. However, they must fight bloody and dirty in the coliseum until someone loses consciousness.

SCENARIOS

If you can't pick something, roll 1-5.

1. Your character is told to toss the match, and sworn to secrecy about it.

2. Your character is in the arena. Are they fighting for the prize? Or for freedom? People tagging you are now your opponents, ooh fun.

3. It's after the fight. Someone's badly hurt. Maybe it's you, or maybe your character's the one doing the healing.

4. Your character is part of a secret organization whose current goal is to manipulate the winner of the tournament. You're hanging around before the next fight, looking for the person who needs to lose this next match.

5. Someone catches you trying to rig the match. You can go peacefully to the authorities, who will probably end you, or fight to escape. Maybe you can talk your way out of this. Depends on who's tagging you and how gullible they are.

Obviously this post will get violent. I will not be doing dice rolls. Combat should be fairly standard for dw/lj rp, with one action and one counter per post. Don't godmode each other and always remember to 'attempt' actions, like Dave tries to smack some sense into John.

Welcome to the Forest

[Wherever you were before, you aren't there now. What welcomes you when you open your eyes is a cool green canopy and a mossy, spongey ground. Tiny mushrooms of all shapes, sizes, and enchantments grow at the base of the ageless trees. It's like something out of a storybook-- a place where only dreams dwell.

There are many paths within this forest, and maybe one of them will lead you back to the place you were. You might find yourself before a tree-village, or at the shore of some quiet spring, or captive at the center of a fairy ring.

It's up to you.]

WELCOME TO SILVERTINE

[Whether you were eating dinner, fighting someone, or being dead, you now find yourself tossed into a bustling world. The air here is hot and humid from being caught between a warm ocean, a swamp, and a ridge of mountains; everything smells of grease and dirt and wet pavement. Canvas and clockwork airships zoom overhead, nestling like so many birds in the shadows of the biggest mountain. A castle and the city walls are etched into the hillside. It seems to form the foundation of the entire city.

The townspeople are busy with their own lives, and they seem to take no notice of the newcomers, only pointing toward the looming castle if asked for assistance and ignoring anything else. For the most part, they're dressed in a mixture of Victorian fashion and whatever a magnet can attract. Some of them have cat ears, or wolf tails, or horns, or tiny wings. It's so commonplace that it won't even turn heads if you have them, too.

This strange city seems to have everything: a castle, an airship port, a grassy park, a hospital, a farmer's market, shops with clockwork-styled robots, armor and weapons shops, an inn, a theme park and fair... Everything is free to the Otherworlders as well, though there is a theory that the ruling council might be getting their payment some other way. The gates open at dawn and shut at dusk, and outside of them lies a wide open plain supposedly infested with monsters.

How will you spend your day in this strange place?]

[ooc: This is an OPEN POST. AUs, canon characters, multiples, characters with game history, original characters-- all of this is allowed and encouraged. Also, if you have a character who's played in Strayta, feel free to recognize this as the same world. It's ~the future~.]
